Job Description New York (Long Island) Area – Program Manager COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

StudySmart, Inc is a rapidly growing educational company with an inspiring mission: to build a great company and to help kids succeed in school.

We provide tutoring programs for families and schools, and we have grown on the hard work, intelligence, and dedication of our team. In the past five years we have expanded our programs to ten major US cities, and we continue to plan our entry into new markets.

Our philosophy is one of learning and growth, and it applies to both our students and our employees. Building an education company from the ground up is an incredible experience, and offers a unique combination of rewarding work, constant challenge and unlimited growth potential. We have big dreams for where we want to go, and are looking for talented people to help us get there.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Program Manager will assist the New York Program Director in driving the growth and success of our business on Long Island, as well as help manage all aspects of running a small business. The Program Manager will lead and manage a team of Tutors in building StudySmart’s brand name in the Long Island area.  The Program Manager will be responsible for developing new clients and referral sources, as well as marketing StudySmart products and services and building current client loyalty.

The Program Manager will oversee management of all StudySmart Tutors and programs offered in the Long Island Market, including standardized test preparation, academic subject tutoring and study skills tutoring. In addition to conducting customer calls and sales, the Program Manager will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating tutors.

During the first 6-9 months of employment, the Program Manager will also tutor students enrolled in StudySmart programs on Long Island. This will enable the Program Manager to become an expert in all program offerings, learn the ins and outs of the for-profit education industry and jumpstart our marketing efforts in the Long Island Area. In a typical workweek, the Program Manager may spend 25 hours in the office and 20-25 hours tutoring StudySmart students in their respective homes. As many student lessons will take place during the afternoons, evenings and weekends, the Program Manager must be willing to work an extremely flexible schedule during the first few months of employment with StudySmart. After the initial 6-9 months of employment, the Program Manager will revert to a typical 45-50 hour workweek, with the majority of time spent working in the StudySmart office.
