Did you know that effective July 1, 2007, all public meetings in New York State must be webcast?   http://www.ny.gov/governor/executive_orders/exeorders/3.html You might be thinking - "Great - no more middle of the night decisions or under the table deals"  I'm thinking.... " hmmmm what's the catch?" Tell me what you think about this.

5K Firecracker Run- Massapequa Park

What a day today!!! Congratulations to all of you that participated today in the Massapequa Road Runner's Firecracker 5K.  There were over 700 participants and we all finished in the top half! It makes me so proud to see you out there 'getting physical' .  Some of us, myself included, never thought we could run a 5k (3.1 miles).  Yet, we all finished.  Some running all the way, some mixing in walking with running.  Regardless, 3.1 miles is an incredible amount of distance.  Give yourself a pat on the back and a good night's rest. Stay hydrated by replenishing fluids you lost during the race. Keep up the great work.  I really see continued changes in body composition in all of you. It brings a smile to my face when I see committed people working towards their goals. There are more 5Ks scheduled over the summer all around Long Island.  Anyone interested in doing one in August/September?  Yes, you can do it!  A few more weeks of aerobic/cardio training and you'll be able to a 5K, too.  Call me and I'll help you to set-up a training schedule to get you there.  Participate and you can receive a special gift from In Sync. All along the development of this site the decisions have been made by us at Sidewalk Designs... We think it's time to pass the decision making over to you, our members. SO in planning the next improvements we want to include you... here are the ideas we're kicking around; 1- We're considering abandoning the biz2biz directory - or possibly integrating the biz2biz directory into the user profile.  We can do this by adding a tab in the user's profile holding their business information. We'll need to recode the search function to accomplish this. 2- Networking Groups - Since they are the root of our site - yet largely ignored by visitors - we think we can do a better job of featuring them more prominently on the home page and in the navigation. 3- The Chat box was such a huge asset to the site - we think a chat room - that you can hold private conversations in, might be a useful tool.. We would call them online meeting places, or online networking meeting rooms. 4- Event Registrations, We plan to add a few fields in the event registration and provide a place where attendees can post their business type - so that potential attendees can make a judgement call as to whether to face that competition and attend even though someone else in their niche will be present.  SO this is our TO DO list for the near future - I'd love to hear some feedback from you guys!
